Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
1. Overview
Orbit develops and distributes macOS desktop applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.
The short version: we only process the minimum data needed to provide our services. We do not track your usage, build advertising profiles, or sell your data.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Account Information (Paid Users)
When you create an account and purchase a product, we collect:
- Email address
- Purchased product and license status
- Device activation records (for license validation)
Payment information (credit card details, billing address) is collected and processed by Paddle, our payment processor. We never receive or store your full credit card number.
2.2 Local Storage
Our macOS applications store the following locally on your device:
- Application preferences
- License token (for offline validation)
- Clipboard history (local only, never leaves your device)
- Snippet presets
All of the above data stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
2.3 macOS Permissions (OmniSwitch)
OmniSwitch requires the following system permissions to function:
- Accessibility: Required to switch between windows and simulate paste operations. The app does not read or log screen content.
- Screen Recording: Required to capture window thumbnails shown in the switcher panel. Screenshots are cached locally in memory and on disk only — never uploaded.
These permissions are managed by macOS's TCC (Transparency, Consent, and Control) framework. You can revoke them anytime in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not:
- Track your app usage behavior or window switching history
- Build user profiles for advertising or analytics
- Sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties
- Use cookies or tracking scripts on our website
- Collect IP addresses for any purpose beyond basic server operation
4. Data Retention
Account information is retained for the life of your account. Upon account deletion, your email and license data are removed within 30 days. Device activation records are removed upon deactivation.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Paddle — Payment processing. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- Google — Account sign-in. See Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed through our service, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls on our servers. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing activities; data portability (where applicable).
To exercise these rights, email us at hexdevthings@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
